About me
As a child, my favourite pastime was drawing and I have had a lifelong interest in art and creativity. Studying at a school of art and design was a natural progression when leaving school.
I moved to Gloucestershire a few years ago and felt inspired to paint again, after a long period of inactivity. Working primarily with acrylics, inks and spray paint, sometimes making my own stencils, I have in recent years explored themes and ideas from many diverse sources and exhibited my paintings regularly.
However lately, I have become diverted quite by chance and am now following a quite different and fascinating creative path. Having always worked in 2D I have to my surprise become captivated by the three dimensional and ancient art form of automata and been working to develop my skills in making them. So I'm currently learning woodwork, metalwork and mechanical skills. I have a long way to go. So things are likely to be a bit quiet on the website for a while.
In the meantime, here are a couple of things I made recently. I hope you enjoy them.

Many thanks to the wonderful metal sculptor Rachel Higgins (www.courtleetstudio.co.uk) without whose gentle tuition, this automaton would not have been made. |
